WooCommerce can do many things. And something which has become increasingly popular is using it to build a food ordering business for restaurants.
Setting up a WooCommerce food ordering system and offering food deliveries is far more cost-effective and sustainable than managing a dine-in restaurant – especially considering most restaurants have had to close down due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In this article, we’ll show you how you can create your own bespoke WooCommerce food ordering website in WooCommerce in a few simple steps.

Brian Dean analyzed 11.8 million search results to see what factors contribute to a first page ranking
I love Brian Dean's articles. He only publishes around one a month but it's worth it each time with the sheer quality of the information he includes.
Two big takeaways from this epic article?
- Pages with the highest number of total backlinks tended to rank best in Google.
- The average Google first page result contains 1,447 words.

Although most of our readers would be running WooCommerce, and not Shopify, it's important to keep an eye on what they're doing.
This week they've launched a dedicated app called 'Shop' which allows anyone to buy from their entire ecosystem.
This could potentially be a huge development. I'd be a bit sceptical that people want to install another app on their devices but if this gets traction it could become an important consideration for eCommerce businesses when choosing a platform.
I'd love to see something in this area from WooCommerce. The recent updates to the plugin are nice, especially when it comes to reporting, but I'd like to see a truly big feature like this considered.

Latest Shoptimizer releases
If you've been using our Shoptimizer WooCommerce theme, we pushed an important update this week in version 2.1.1.
One item included is a new option to add images to the mega menu. This has been requested for a while.
Also, on mobile, the checkout button in the sidebar cart should now be visible at all times, even if the bottom toolbar is active. This was a tricky one, dealing with mobile browser quirks.
See everything on the theme's changelog page.
That's it for this edition. Simply reply to this email if you have any questions or suggestions, we read every message. Stay safe where ever you are in the world.
