Hi there, hope you're having a great Friday!
This is Colm and Simon from CommerceGurus, with a handpicked weekly roundup of eCommerce articles.
Our latest blog post emphasizes that the order confirmation (or “thank you”) page is not just a receipt, but a strategic opportunity.
Features to consider adding include showing product recommendations that complement the purchase, offering discount codes for the next order, promoting rewards/loyalty programs and providing clear support links to reduce uncertainty and returns.
It also shows real-world examples: some stores offer user-guides for purchased goods (helping satisfaction), others give reorder buttons or referral programmes, or ask for feedback right away.
The article concludes that while you don’t need all these features, choosing one or two aligned with your goals - and combining them with the basics (showing order details, confirming payment) - will help turn a simple confirmation into a business-growth step.

WordPress 6.9 is heavily focused on front-end performance optimisations.
Improvements include smarter script loading (via the new fetchpriority attribute and deferring more scripts to the footer), and much more efficient stylesheet handling - such as loading block-specific CSS only when needed, inlining minified styles, and increasing the inline style limit from 20 KB to 40 KB.
Hidden or unused block styles and scripts are now omitted by default, dramatically reducing page weight.
If you’re running a shop built with WooCommerce on WordPress (such as Shoptimizer), these performance optimisations directly help your conversion funnel.
Faster first contentful paint (FCP) and largest contentful paint (LCP) mean shoppers see product pages quicker, which can reduce bounce, especially on mobile.

Elementor version 3.33 introduces a set of powerful new tools - especially the Variables Manager, enhanced Custom CSS controls, and Blend Modes, all built to leverage the forthcoming “Editor V4” architecture.
The Variables Manager gives designers one central hub to view, create and edit design tokens (like colours, typography, sizes) across a site. It supports live updates, search, validation and better scalability for design systems.
With Blend Modes, you can apply native CSS blend effects (Multiply, Overlay, Screen, etc.) directly in the builder to create layered, rich visuals without writing custom code.
Finally, the update also brings improved media import/export options for templates, and a refreshed top-bar layout to make the builder more streamlined.

The piece argues there is no one-size-fits-all answer to how often you should send marketing emails. What matters most is how your audience reacts and what your business model supports.
It explains that while some large shirts-and-apparel brands analysed by other researchers found a “sweet spot” of roughly six emails per week, those findings may not translate for other verticals.
Instead of blindly increasing send-volume in the hope of more outcomes, the article stresses the importance of balancing engagement (opens, clicks, conversions) with subscriber tolerance (avoidances of fatigue, unsubscribes, deliverability issues).
It recommends starting at a moderate cadence (for example once per week) and monitoring how your subscribers respond. If engagement is strong and unsubscribes/stops are low, you might increase frequency; if not, scale back or refine your targeting.
