Hi there, hope you're having a great Friday!
This is Colm and Simon from CommerceGurus, with a handpicked weekly roundup of eCommerce articles.
Enjoy!
We’ve put together an extensive guide to the best product page practices, with examples from some of the biggest eCommerce stores. An effective product page will within seconds, convey the value of the item and provide a clear call to action to purchase it.
We look at 17 examples of features on product pages which you should focus on for your own store.
We'd love to hear from you in the comments section also with your own techniques and recommendations.

Brendan from The Search Engine Shop has launched a handy new free speed test tool you can run your site through.
Just enter your URL and the tool does its thing within a couple of minutes, giving you a comprehensive report on your website's loading time complete with recommendations. We focus a lot on speed at CommerceGurus and have written extensively on speeding up WooCommerce so we're always interested in tools like this.

In an announcement that went pretty under the rader (I spotted it on the WooCommerce Help and Share Facebook Group), WooCommerce will no longer sell multi-site licenses for any of its plugins. You'll be able to buy single-site licenses only.
This could have consequences for developers who have dozens of clients running WooCommerce stores and were able to previously pick up a sizable discount with multi-license pricing.
Woo say this simplifies matters and will lead to a less confusing approach to licenses. As with everything in the WordPress space, it's usually best if the client buys themes and plugins in their own name. In that way, they can always access updates and support in the future, even if they switch developers.

Pat Walls from Starter Story fame has put together a post on the business books most recommended by other entrepreneurs. If you're looking for a new read there are some great choices in here. I've read a number of these; The 4-hour work week, Rework, and the $100 Startup are all excellent and would get my vote also.

We feature free illustration packs every so often in the newsletter and they always seem to be popular, so here's one more I came across this week.
They're in a clean, modern style which would be effective for many kinds of landing pages. The default colors in bluey-purple seem to be very much in vogue at the moment too. As they're in Illustrator and Sketch formats you can always tweak these to better match your brand if you wish.

Latest Shoptimizer updates
If you've been using our Shoptimizer WooCommerce theme, we pushed an update this week in version 2.0.3, and added some features including a new header layout. See everything on the theme's changelog page.
That's it for this edition. Simply reply to this email if you have any questions or suggestions, we read every message. Have a great week and best of luck with your projects!
