Baymard's large-scale testing of product listings pages revealed that there are 5 product attributes that are so essential to users scanning list items that they will actively avoid clicking on products without them.
The suggested attributes covered in the piece, as well as supporting screenshot examples, are:
- Price
- Product title or type
- Thumbnail
- User ratings average and the number of ratings
- Product variations
Achieving an optimal balance for the list item information results in a high signal-to-noise ratio in the product list, which is critical to the user’s ability to find the products they are looking for.

WooCommerce will soon introduce a major update that will speed up your WooCommerce store.
High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) will enable a better, faster checkout experience for your customers and faster order processing for you.
It will enable up to 5x improvement in order creation speed and up to 1.5x faster checkout. On the operational side, performance will also be improved — finding an order will now be up to 40x faster.
This is an extremely welcome enhancement to WooCommerce and we can't wait until it is rolled out.

Mike Young has written an interesting post on using Microsoft Clarity's free tier to improve the landing page of his project.
Clarity allows you to:
- Watch recordings of user sessions
- View heatmaps to see where users click and scroll
- Identify rage clicks and dead links
It saved the author from making tweaks on guesses, and instead, he could focus on changes backed by actual data.
But.. it's crucial to have enough traffic for the data to be valuable; if you do, Clarity (or a similar solution such as Hotjar) can be a great asset.
Clarity can affect performance scores so it's important to keep an eye on GPSI scores after setting it up.
