WordPress 6.0 "Arturo" landed on Wednesday. This release introduces sweeping improvements to the block editor and its utilities and design tools.
Users can now control gaps, margins, typography, and more on multiple blocks inside a Group block.
If you're a fan of the block editor, you'll find lots of new options to play with. If you're not, and primarily use a page builder there's not much of interest in this release.
Although the block editor continues to improve, the lack of responsive controls continues to hold it back and the experience of building pages with it is still vastly sub-par compared to the likes of Elementor.

Gijo Varghese has launched his latest performance product, called FlyingProxy. Gijo says:
What if I told you that your WooCommerce website with Elementor can be loaded in 0.5s anywhere in the world, without installing a single optimization plugin?!
A free CDN like Cloudflare only caches your static files. Your HTML pages are still served from Origin.
FlyingProxy does a lot more, such as HTML caching, image compression, webp delivery, and rewriting CSS/JS/Fonts for core web vitals.
There's a 7 day free trial and plans start at $10 a month.

Shopify has announced that it will acquire Deliverr, an eCommerce fulfillment startup, for $2.1 billion in cash and stock.
The deal is the largest acquisition in Shopify’s history, and Shopify founder and CEO Tobi Lütke says that it will enable the company to create an “end-to-end logistics” platform for millions of merchants.
Fast shipping has become increasingly desirable for merchants as the pandemic impacts nearly every aspect of the supply chain. Sellers see automation as a means to this end.

A great new Shoptimizer release lands today, we've been working hard on it for the past number of weeks and we're delighted to finally launch it.
The biggest new feature is a Sticky Add to Cart module within CommerceKit. We've dramatically improved the action button on product pages, and included a slick new sticky bar.
See it on a demo product and you can also watch me describe how it works in this short 2 minute video.
CommerceKit's Wishlist module admin area now includes product data. So you can see which items are most "wished for" in your store catalog.
We also included a cool new way to customize the Empty Mini Cart Content to make it much more useful. See an example.
There have been also numerous accessibility improvements, particularly in the area of color contrasts.
For a full list of new features, tweaks and fixes see the changelog page. Remember to take advantage of the new update, it's always a 2-step process.
- Update Shoptimizer
- Update CommerceKit

That's it for this edition. Simply reply to this email if you have any questions or suggestions, we read every message. Have a great week and best of luck with your projects!
