Hi there, hope you're having a great Friday!
This is Colm and Simon from CommerceGurus, with a handpicked weekly roundup of eCommerce articles.
Baymard has a good post this week on general UX improvements you can make to your WooCommerce site in the era of Covid-19.
They may not all be applicable in every particular situation but they're good to think about and if they could apply to you.
In particular, having separate links to a Returns policy and Delivery times pages. These seem like obvious things to include right now - it's something many visitors will be looking for.

We've had a number of questions lately on Autoptimize. It's on our agenda to write up a dedicated post on the topic. Until then, this one from Kinsta is a good one.
It goes over what Autoptimize actually goes and outlines each setting in detail.
Because it's so powerful, you do need to be careful what you enable, but used wisely it produces a much leaner, faster site to load which is excellent for performance.

This is an interesting new tool just lanuched by Google.
Rising Retail Categories exposes “fast-growing, product-related categories,” their associated queries and the geographic areas where product categories are trending the most.
Google adds, “This is the first time we have provided this type of insight on the product categories that people are searching for.”

This is a great post from Orla over at PoppyVine on convincing smaller shops that they need to switch to selling online.
If you have clients in a similar situation there are some really good points addressed in the article.
Note that the trading voucher mentioned only applies to new online businesses in Ireland.

YITH have released a new store locator plugin which looks like a handy solution for anyone building websites for clients with multiple locations.
With a good store locator you should be able to find your nearest branch and also filter based on requirements like parking, products and washroom facilities for example.
In my research I also came across WP Store Locator - a free plugin with maybe not quite as much functionality as the YITH one but it is very well rated.

Gary Vaynerchuk is a well known business figurehead and entrepreneur. He has a new YouTube show called Coffee & Commerce and.. he's a surprisingly good interviewer.
Due to his profile he can get some very big guests and the latest episode features Tobi Lutke, the founder of Shopify, a German who moved to Canada.
It's a really insightful conversation and is perfect to listen to in the background while working.
