This week Maria looks in detail at the WooCommerce Quantity Discounts, Rules & Swatches plugin.
Are you looking for an easy way to set up bulk discounts on your online store? Or maybe you want to set minimum and maximum quantity rules for your WooCommerce products?
The default WooCommerce plugin doesn’t let you offer customers discounts based on the total order quantity.
She first looks at real-world examples of why this functionality can be very useful from the likes of Amazon and Walmart.
Then, she goes through how the plugin works with implementation examples of it alongside our own Shoptimizer WooCommerce theme.

Harry Roberts has written a mammoth post about Core Web Vitals and its impact on SEO.
To get a ranking boost, you need to pass all relevant Core Web Vitals and everything else in the Page Experience report.
Google does strongly encourage you to focus on site speed for better performance in Search, but, if you don’t pass all relevant Core Web Vitals (and the applicable factors from the Page Experience report) they will not push you down the rankings.
The true impact of Core Web Vitals on ranking is not fully understood, but investing in faster pages benefits everyone: they convert better, they retain better, they’re cheaper to run, they’re better for the environment, and they rank better. There is no reason not to do it.

WordPress' focus on developing FSE and the block editor has been relentless over the past couple of years so it's nice to see some focus finally turn to other areas.
In a series of four posts, lead architect Matías Ventura has outlined the project’s phase 3 plans for Real-Time Collaboration, Workflows, Revisions, and the Media Library.
Reactions have so far been positive, as users and contributors are eager to see a strong focus come to some of the other parts of WordPress that have not had much attention for years.
The newer real-time collaboration features that will take WordPress beyond the days of locking posts while another person is editing, have the potential to speed up content creation and editing for groups working on the same website.

I've been designing a landing page for a project we currently have in development and I was reminded how useful Oliver Meakings' guide to the "anatomy of a high-converting landing page" is.
He covers the typical anatomy of a landing page, and details the sections, elements and why for each.
It also includes a walk-through of a high-converting landing page, section by section.
If you are designing landing pages, or have an existing one, this is worth reading and comparing against. After reviewing literally thousands of landing pages Oliver knows what makes a good one.

Microsoft is replacing its Calibri default font with Aptos, a new sans-serif typeface that’s inspired by mid-20th-century Swiss typography. Previously known as Bierstadt, Aptos has been part of Microsoft’s hunt for its new default font over the past couple of years.
Aptos was created by Steve Matteson, a leading type designer. Matteson previously created Segoe, which was licensed by Microsoft to be used as the Windows default font.
