In this post we show you the top WooCommerce design examples in 2019. This isn't a static gallery of beautiful screenshots. Each example includes a tip or action you can implement on your own WooCommerce site.
So, if you love real world WooCommerce examples and want to know how to apply key learnings to your own store, there's loads to learn from in this post.

There are a lot of businesses out there in the world and people need a way to find them. You can use WordPress to build a site to help people do that...if you have the right tool.
GeoDirectory just might be that tool. It helps you create a local business directory using WordPress. You can list different places, divide them up into categories, and let people search for them on a handy map.

Colm discovered a brilliant resource this week called Third Party Web Today. Created by former Googler, Patrick Hulce, it's a fantastic way to quickly visualize how long scripts take to execute on your site.
Wicked Reports takes the unwelcome award for worst performing script - if you have this active, it's time to look for an alternative. Facebook and Youtube are also serious speed hogs, for anyone wanting a fast website you should evaluate if you really need to include these.
I loved this talk by Andy Davies from the London Web Standards conference. It's easy to focus on the number of 3rd-party tags, how large a page is, or even its Lighthouse score, but fundamentally performance is about our visitors' experience – how quickly it loads, and how smooth it is to use.
Andy examines what affects our perception of performance, how we can speed up visitor experiences and some of the common issues he comes across in his day-to-day work.
Watch on Youtube, it's well worth it
I'm really sceptical about the benefits of sliders on websites, especially eCommerce ones. Research has shown that very few people click on anything apart the first slide and they tend to have a negative impact on page loading times. See my thoughts on the topic here.
Saying that, some people just want them. Kevin Muldoon has looked at six options for WordPress, some of which you've likely heard of and maybe a couple you have not.

Latest Shoptimizer updates
If you've been using our Shoptimizer WooCommerce theme, we pushed a big update last week in version 1.8.3, squashing a couple of bugs and adding some nice features. See everything on the theme's changelog page.
That's it for this edition. Simply reply to this email if you have any questions or suggestions, we read every message. Have a great week and best of luck with your projects!
