Hi there, hope you're having a great Friday!
This is Colm and Simon from CommerceGurus, with a handpicked weekly roundup of eCommerce articles.

I loved this short video by Chris Lang describing how he worked with Oddit to level up his product gallery images for his Fresh Chile store.
This brand boosted conversions not through ads or gimmicks — but by improving their gallery images, nothing fancy.
They redesigned their product pages to better educate shoppers, add visual heat-level guides, highlight real testimonials, and showcase a clear money-back guarantee.
Stronger lifestyle images sealed the deal.
With tools such as the Chat GPT-4o image generator, it has never been easier to create these kinds of visuals even if you don't have a design eye or access to pricey software.
The results? Massive. Most products sold out before the season even started, and they've done millions in sales since.

Microsoft Advertising will shortly require advertisers to implement Consent Mode to comply with global privacy regulations.
This means businesses must send explicit user consent signals when using Microsoft’s tracking tools, including Universal Event Tracking (UET), Universal Pixel, and other ad-related pixels across the Microsoft platform.
May 5th is the official deadline for the rollout, but we've already seen some stores being required to comply as early as April. If you use Bing for advertising, this is something you should prioritize immediately.
See the official press release from Microsoft and for an excellent guide on implementing consent mode check out this excellent configuration guide from Rick Beijen.

In 2024, Equalize Digital conducted accessibility audits on 17 WordPress websites and 5 WordPress plugins, identifying 255 unique accessibility issues.
Notably, 84% of these problems required manual human testing for detection, while only 16% were identifiable through automated tools.
This underscores the importance of manual testing together with automated tools to identify and address accessibility issues.
With the European Accessibility Act coming into view this year, developers and store owners must prioritize accessibility from the start, focusing on proper semantic HTML, color contrast, and keyboard navigation to improve inclusivity and compliance.

There is a lot to like in the product page of this Shoptimizer implementation by Nuped, a Portuguese vitamins brand.
- The product gallery includes key data points within the image (e.g. 12 Vitamins, 0% sugar) and a short review! This is a great way to highlight key points so they are not missed.
- A €5 voucher popup is available on the left hand side.
- Offering various bundles rather than just the product is a sure-fire way to increase your average order value.
- Below the add to cart button, there are trust badges highlighting fast delivery times, a 30 day guarantee and payment card logos.
- With the product description there is an excellent product comparison chart as well as comprehensive nutritional information as well as FAQs and product reviews.
