Hi there, hope you're having a great Friday!
This is Colm and Simon from CommerceGurus, with a handpicked weekly roundup of eCommerce articles.
Every business owner wants to know how to optimize their pages for the best conversions, whether selling products, services, or just trying to generate leads.
After all, what’s the point of driving traffic to your site if those visitors aren’t taking the desired action?
Remember, every single element can influence a visitor’s decision to convert or not.
One of the most important places to focus your optimization efforts is “above the fold” – the area of your website that is visible without scrolling.
In this excellent article from Oliver Kenyon, he looks at the 5 critical elements that you must use in order to boost your conversion rates above the fold, using the example of an eCommerce landing page.

GoodUI has spotted an interesting product page navigation pattern on Amazon which appears to have been accepted.
Given that many of their product detail pages are quite long, it appears they wanted to encourage more people to discover more of the product details.
This floating navigation pattern is actually quite similar to what we have implemented on product pages of our Shoptimizer WooCommerce theme.
Once you scroll enough, you'll see a nav bar stick to the top of the viewport, allowing for easy switching between key elements, such as the description and reviews.

Let’s be honest: no business owner enjoys returns. They can be expensive, time-consuming, unpleasant, and tedious. But returns don’t always have to be so terrible. A great return policy can boost your business and drive customer loyalty.
Maybe they bought the wrong item, found that the product didn’t live up to its online description, received it damaged or in the wrong size, or even purchased multiple sizes to find the perfect fit.
There are many reasons why a return is sought.
This useful article from WooCommerce will guide you through creating a return and refund or exchange policy that minimizes the hassle of returns and turns potential negatives into positives for your business.

I came across an interesting looking plugin recently called RoadMapWP.
Built by James Welbes, RoadMapWP allows Product Managers, Software Developers, or anybody with a product or service which is continuously improving, to collect feedback, and organize ideas on a public facing roadmap.
This lets you keep your customers in the loop and helps you build trust around product decisions you are making.
