Hi there, hope you're having a great Friday!
This is Colm and Simon from CommerceGurus, with a handpicked weekly roundup of eCommerce articles.
PS - Due to an overwhelming response to our Community Survey we have extended the deadline until the end of August. So ensure that you have your say on what features we build next!
If you're redesigning your product pages, GoodCart has put together a great collection of 20 standout eCommerce PDPs from brands including Nike, Huel, Ridge, Gymshark, and Allbirds.
Rather than just showing attractive designs, it explains the UX patterns behind them - from sticky add-to-cart bars and rich product galleries to comparison tables, bundles, trust signals, and well-placed social proof.
One thing I like about the article is that it focuses on why these pages convert, not just how they look.
Many of the examples use education, customer reviews, FAQs, UGC, and supporting visuals to answer objections before they arise.

This product page from Tower 28 Beauty is packed with ideas that ecommerce stores can borrow.
The product gallery goes far beyond standard lifestyle photography, mixing before-and-after images, clinical test result graphics (such as improved hydration and skin texture), videos, certifications, and educational slides alongside the usual product shots.
By the time you've finished browsing the gallery, you've already seen much of the evidence needed to make a purchase decision.
The rest of the page continues that theme. There are shoppable videos, one-click upsells that promote the complete skincare routine, an extensive FAQ, and highly visible customer reviews with before-and-after photos.
Rather than hiding proof further down the page, Tower 28 surfaces trust signals and supporting content throughout the buying journey, making the PDP feel both educational and conversion-focused.

Security isn't just about plugins is the core message of this new WooCommerce guide.
While keeping WooCommerce updated is important, the article stresses that a secure store also depends on strong hosting, regular backups, HTTPS, two-factor authentication, trusted extensions, and limiting administrator access.
The article also covers practical issues that many merchants overlook, including card testing attacks - where fraudsters use stolen credit cards to make purchases to verify they're still active.
WooCommerce recommends adding CAPTCHA to checkout, using anti-fraud tools, monitoring unusual order patterns, and working with your payment provider to reduce risk.
It's a good security checklist to review, even if your store has never experienced an attack.

Zero Click Marketing is the upcoming book from Amanda Natividad and Rand Fishkin, tackling one of the biggest shifts in digital marketing: the web is sending fewer clicks than ever before.
Google increasingly answers questions directly, social platforms reward content that keeps users on-platform, and AI tools are becoming a new discovery layer.
Instead of fighting that trend, the book argues that marketers should focus on building awareness and trust before a click ever happens.
The book promises a practical playbook rather than theory, covering topics such as creating native content for social platforms, measuring success beyond last-click attribution, and building brand recognition across channels like newsletters and podcasts.
Given how often we've covered AI search and zero-click marketing in this newsletter recently, this looks like one of the most relevant marketing books of the year.
I've got my pre-order in already.

Shoptimizer's update adds a new option for direct quantity input in the mini-cart, improves responsive image loading across category archives, and upgrades below-header banners to responsive images.
It also resolves mini-cart and product-page AJAX issues caused by expired cached security tokens, and improves Load More support.
Our latest CommerceGurus Turbo update makes an important change to how JS optimization works.
We’re retiring Curated Delay mode from the standard configuration path. Going forward, it will offer two clearer paths:
- Delay All remains the maximum-performance option and the default for new installations.
- Defer Standard is the compatibility-focused alternative for sites where delaying scripts causes issues.
The result is a simpler configuration experience, more predictable behaviour, and better guidance when optimizing a complex WooCommerce store.
