Hi there, hope you're having a great Friday!
This is Colm and Simon from CommerceGurus, with a handpicked weekly roundup of eCommerce articles.
You might have noticed we're writing more and more posts on the importance of reviews lately.
No matter how beautiful or fast your store is, if you don't have many reviews you'll immediately lack a key trust element compared to Amazon which will have 100's for even the most basic items.
For a new visitor, seeing what existing customers say about your products (both good and bad) is such an important thing to display.
In this latest post we look at the importance of review systems, how they work, and how they can automate this entire process for you. After all, you or your clients have enough to concentrate on while running a store.

This link from Brian Dean is a bit of a repost as I featured it back in January but I was delving back into it lately and there's still so much value in revisiting it. The guide covers:
- How to promote your content
- Content formats that are working right now
- The top content marketing trends in 2020
- New content creation strategies
- Advanced tips, strategies and techniques
The super-personalized outreach examples are particularly good if you need to get more backlinks to your site and don't want to come off as too pushy.

There just isn’t a lot of diversity in design. People of color are often underrepresented in illustrations, lacking in the design process and often go unseen in visuals across the internet.
This high-quality free set hopes to rectify this with over 40+ illustrations you can use on both personal and commercial projects. They're scalable and editable and are compatible with all of the major image editors.

I came across this excellent guide this week from Julian Song on how to convert a site from WPBakery to Elementor.
It's something I was thinking of writing myself but Julian has covered everything really well.
The speed difference at the end with the finished result is quite stark also.
This is certainly a guide worth bookmarking as many of us who build sites for clients may come across this challenge at some point in time.

WooCommerce has a nice blog post this week with short interviews from store owners. They describe how they got started, the challenges they faced, and what their recommendations for anyone starting out on their own journey.
If anyone using our Shoptimizer theme would like to be interviewed for a similar article on our own site just get in touch. It'd be a nice way to gain extra traffic for your site and to help others.

Latest Shoptimizer updates

That's it for this edition. Simply reply to this email if you have any questions or suggestions, we read every message. Have a great week and best of luck with your projects!
