Hi there, hope you're having a great Friday!
This is Colm and Simon from CommerceGurus, with a handpicked weekly roundup of eCommerce articles.
We have big news this week with major updates to both Shoptimizer and CommerceKit!
Our CommerceKit plugin was born as a simple companion to Shoptimizer.
Over the years it has evolved into a powerful, fully-featured conversion optimization suite for WooCommerce with 13 modules covering everything from instant ajax search and conversion-focused product galleries to order bumps, attribute swatches, and wishlists.
It replaces a whole stack of individual plugins with a single, performance-optimized package.
For years, many of you have been asking if CommerceKit can be used with any WooCommerce theme – not just Shoptimizer.
For those of you who have missed CommerceKit’s suite of conversion optimization features on your other WooCommerce stores, we are pleased to announce that you can now purchase a standalone license and use CommerceKit with any WooCommerce-powered store!
CommerceKit Now Works with Any WooCommerce Theme

Elementor’s new “Angie” is positioned as a shift from traditional AI assistants to something more hands-on: an agentic AI that can actually do the work inside your WordPress site.
Instead of generating snippets or ideas, Angie understands your site’s structure and can execute multi-step tasks like creating pages, updating settings, or building custom functionality directly from a simple prompt.
What makes it different is that it’s deeply integrated into WordPress itself. It uses your site’s real context to generate working code, widgets, and layouts that match your design system automatically, reducing the usual back-and-forth between tools.
The goal is to turn WordPress into a more conversational, automated environment - where you describe what you want, and the AI plans, builds, and deploys it for you.

Checkout Summit {Reloaded} is the online version of the WooCommerce-focused Checkout Summit, bringing the event’s talks to a global audience in a live, interactive format.
Sessions are delivered over two half-days, with real-time Q&A, chat, and networking, so it feels much closer to attending in person rather than just watching recordings.
The lineup includes well-known WooCommerce voices like James Kemp (WooCommerce Core Product Manager) and Patrick Rauland, alongside other experienced practitioners sharing practical, real-world insights you can apply immediately.
It’s also very accessible, with tickets starting from as little as €20 / $26, making it an easy way to learn from top experts without the cost or travel of a full conference.

Firehose is a brand new free service which lets developers stream changes from across the web in real time.
Instead of scraping sites, you define filters and receive updates whenever matching pages are created or updated, turning the web into a live data feed your dashboards can react to instantly.
For eCommerce teams, one useful application is competitor intelligence.
Brands can track things like product launches, pricing changes, brand mentions, or new announcements the moment they appear online.
This makes it easier to monitor competitors, spot trends early, and stay on top of what’s happening in your market.

Our latest updates to Shoptimizer (v2.9.2) and CommerceKit (v2.5.0) focus on simplifying setups, improving performance, and adding more flexibility for store owners.
Shoptimizer has removed dependencies on plugins like Kirki and One Click Demo Import, making installs lighter and easier to manage.
It also introduces new UX features like a “Load more” button for product listings and “Grid Features” that let you insert promotions or custom content directly into shop grids.
On the CommerceKit side, the biggest shift is that it’s now available as a standalone plugin, giving store owners more flexibility beyond the Shoptimizer theme.
The update also expands key conversion features like product badges, attribute swatches, order bumps, and waitlists with improvements to performance, accessibility, and tracking.
Overall, both updates continue the same direction: fewer dependencies, better performance, and more built-in tools to optimise WooCommerce stores without relying on multiple plugins.
