Hi there, hope you're having a great Friday!
This is Colm and Simon from CommerceGurus, with a handpicked weekly roundup of eCommerce articles.
From last week's newsletter this is the correct link to the Pixel Manager Plugin review we referenced.
In this article, we cover the best ways to leverage popup makers to get the best results.
Popups are a powerful tool that can yield great results, but they can also harm your site if you don’t use them wisely.
When it comes to maximizing the impact of your popups, having access to triggers that can detect the following is very useful:
- How long has a visitor been inactive (dwell intent trigger).
- When a visitor is about to leave your site (exit intent trigger).
- How much of a page a visitor has viewed (scroll trigger).
Also, if you’re using both WordPress and WooCommerce, don’t just choose a WordPress popup maker.
Choose one that’s also built for use with WooCommerce and has features that let you use popups with the WooCommerce aspects of your site, such as the cart and checkout totals and customer status.

The WooCommerce Single Product Page add to cart form features a quantity input and an add to cart button. Super simple. Customers can define a quantity and add the current product to the cart.
Now, let’s imagine you want to change this experience based on your business requirements, and instead of the quantity input and add to cart button you want to show 3 buttons:
- Add 1 to the cart
- Add 2 to the cart
- Add 3 to the cart etc
With this powerful code snippet from Rodolfo at Business Bloomer you can do just that.

The WordPress Performance Team recently published a new plugin called “Speculative Loading”.
This enables a new technology to automatically prerender certain URLs on the page, which can lead to near-instant page load times.
By default, the plugin is configured to prerender WordPress frontend URLs when the user hovers over a relevant link.
This can lead to near-instant load times once the user clicks on the link as the page would have most likely already been loaded in its entirety.
At the moment, the plugin should be used to test the feature so it should be tried only on staging websites.
