Hi there, hope you're having a great Friday!
This is Colm and Simon from CommerceGurus, with a handpicked weekly roundup of eCommerce articles.
Imagine if you had a single dashboard that gave you a quick bird’s eye view of your store’s most important metrics.
And what if you could get answers to questions like What was the best selling shoe size this month? or Which products are under-performing?
We think Metorik is that tool, and we'd go as far as to say it's a must-have if you're running a WooCommerce store.
Once you’re all set up, Metorik is the only thing you’ll need to look at to get an accurate picture of how your store is performing. You can build your dashboard however you’d like, manage customer relationships, recover abandoned carts, and much more.

Smashing Magazine has an interesting article this week on how a plugin from Cloudinary can be used to optimize images and videos for performance. Plus, change the design of images with transformations, all via their remote API.
You can select the desired transformations, and the image (optimized to the specific browser and device) will be served from a CDN with data centers all over the world, delivering a super-fast experience.
Version 3 of the plugin includes integration with the WordPress editor, full compatibility with Elementor, and a new dashboard providing stats on the usage of the service.
They have a generous free plan which should be enough for small stores.

StatusCake is a useful service which monitors your store's uptime, and gives you daily reports on how key pages are performing (speed-wise).
We've written a lot about improving store speed, but it's equally important to keep on top of things, and be alerted if something changes which suddenly affects performance or sales.
StatusCake keeps an eye on your website performance for you in the background. And it sends you a notification letting you know if any downtime occurs.

It's still (just about) November but it'd be a good idea to get ready for the holiday season.
What if a new shopper still has trouble choosing the right gift? Or maybe they want to give their friend or family member the freedom to pick out exactly what they want.
Gift cards are a great option for the holidays. They’re easy and quick to purchase and ensure that the recipient gets something that they love.
PW WooCommerce Gift Cards is a highly rated (and free) gift cards plugin which is worth looking at in advance of the holiday season.

I discovered a nice gallery this week called Commerce Cream which is a showcase of stylish Shopify store designs.
As they put it, "We collect and highlight the most beautiful commerce experiences on Shopify to help inspire designers, developers and merchants to create amazing things."
No matter the platform you use, whether WooCommerce, Shopify, or something else, it's always worthwhile and interesting to see what other stores are doing.

Finally, as today is Black Friday, here is a collection of deals from small Indie developers whom it would be good to support.
