High-quality eCommerce copy can help drive a potentially unlimited amount of traffic to your online store and, crucially, help to convert that traffic into sales.
from landing pages to product descriptions, eCommerce copy can be produced for any page of a site across a multitude of formats. However, for all its variety, each eCommerce piece is written with the same ultimate goal; to drive the user towards purchase.

WordPress’ Performance Team has published a feature proposal that would enable WebP images by default, expanding core support for the modern image format.
Images are often some of the largest resources used by websites, and using WebP creates websites that are lighter and faster.
Compared to JPEG images, WebP images generated by WordPress are almost always smaller, with a ~30% file size reduction on average (with the same visual quality).”
With WebP enabled by default, WordPress users would not experience any changes to their usual image upload workflow. WordPress would automatically convert JPEG uploads to WebP in the background and use them on the website.

Etsy ran an interesting filter experiment on their listing pages. The control's exposed filters on the left column were collapsed in two variations and made visible with the use of an overlay.
One variation collapsed the filters completely while another added an extra layer of horizontal categories.
I'd like to see more research into this particular design pattern.
In a previous blog post I described how to incorporate horizontal filters using a plugin - rather than using the traditional left column.

They've published an informative article detailing alternative platforms you could switch to.
We're planning on switching to Metorik in the next couple of weeks.
