In this interesting video from Starter Story, Gus interviews Roman, the creator of Career Hound, a job board that generates $25k a month.
Career Hound charges job seekers $7 a week, $20 a month or $50 a year for access to job listings scraped directly from company websites, and now has more than 8,000 users.
Roman believes the success of the business has much more to do with marketing than the product itself.
A big part of his strategy is understanding the psychology of people searching for jobs and creating content around problems that remain relevant over time, rather than constantly chasing trends.
He also works primarily with older content creators, whose career and life experience adds credibility to the advice they're sharing.
His broader advice for entrepreneurs is to experiment frequently rather than waiting for the perfect idea. It's a good example of taking a proven business model and finding a different way to market and position it.

WooCommerce is hosting a live event on September 30th looking at the practicalities of building stores with block themes.
The discussion will cover how block themes change the approach to store layouts, design systems, plugin compatibility and performance, as well as where visual editing ends and custom code is still required.
