WooCommerce has announced a three-month push focused almost entirely on improving the core WooCommerce plugin, rather than launching major new initiatives.
The team started with a backlog of more than 2,300 open issues and 500 pull requests, and plans to review every one, either prioritising it for work or closing it with an explanation.
The work is centred around four areas: performance and reliability, the developer experience, WooCommerce admin, and the core commerce engine - including cart, checkout, payments, tax, shipping, inventory, orders, subscriptions, and accounts.
For merchants and developers, it's really encouraging to see Woo dedicating a full quarter to fixing long-standing issues and strengthening the foundations before building more on top.

I saw an interesting hover state on Mush recently when looking at their product listings.
When you hover over a product image you see an interesting collage of the various ingredients contained within each item.
It's a good example of how you can use a product interaction in a slightly different, creative way.

WooCommerce 11.0 introduces a small but important change to inventory management: when an order that has already reduced stock is later marked as Failed, WooCommerce will now automatically restore that stock.
Previously, stock was restored for orders moved to Cancelled or Pending, but not Failed, which could leave inventory permanently reduced after unsuccessful payments.

Shopify has published a great roundup of six high-converting landing pages, explaining what makes each one effective.
Rather than focusing on theory, it analyses real brands including Liquid+, Armra, HexClad, Dia, and Clay.
Some recurring patterns stood out: Liquid+ uses anchor links in the navigation to jump between sections of a long-form page, Armra educates visitors before asking for the sale while keeping a sticky CTA visible throughout, and HexClad leads with strong social proof before explaining its key product benefits.
Other nice touches include emotionally driven headlines (Dia), consistent CTAs and customer testimonials (Substack), and interactive social proof with logos and GIFs (Clay).
If you're planning your next campaign, there are plenty of ideas here that can be applied to almost any eCommerce landing page.

Ugmonk has quietly refreshed its homepage, and it's a great example of a clean, conversion-focused eCommerce layout.
It opens with a full-width hero video and the simple headline, "Clear Your Head. Own Your Day.".
From there, visitors are guided through primary product categories, best sellers, "As Seen On" logos, customer testimonials, and finally the brand's story, creating a natural flow from discovery to trust to purchase.
Each section has a clear purpose, the homepage isn't overloaded with products, and the storytelling is woven naturally into the shopping experience.
If you're looking for inspiration for an eCommerce homepage, the updated Ugmonk design is well worth studying.
